It functions as a safer alternative to glass submersibles by deploying Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) ceramic chip technology to eliminate the risk of tank crashes and cracked elements. 

Key Features & Core Technology

• Solid-State Ceramic Chips: Instead of using traditional, unstable resistance wire coils, the Helio contains micro-programmed ceramic chips. As the ceramic material approaches its maximum internal temperature threshold, its electrical resistance spikes, naturally throttling its own heat output to prevent overheating.
• Anti-Dry Run Protection: If the element becomes exposed to the air during a routine water change or a return pump failure, the PTC technology stops the heater from escalating to extreme surface temperatures. This eliminates fire or melting hazards common with standard glass or metal heaters.
• Corrosion-Proof Titanium Core: The element is housed in a rugged, commercial-grade titanium alloy sheath. It is entirely shatterproof and immune to the aggressive corrosive properties of high-salinity marine aquariums.
• Built-in Thermal Sensor: Each independent element contains its own internal temperature reading circuit. When connected to the Helio Smart Controller and its external titanium probe, it provides a triplicate safety net to verify accurate water conditions.
