The Reef Octopus VarioS-10 is a commercial-grade, variable-speed DC pump designed for large-scale reef aquariums, central filtration systems, and demanding high-head applications. Flexible Tubing & Barb Fitting Instructions
The VarioS-10 is built for heavy water volume, so it ships with rigid PVC slip unions instead of small, restrictive barb fittings.
If your filtration system uses flexible vinyl hose, you can easily adapt the output:
- Glue a standard 1.25" PVC-to-Barb adapter into the provided 1.25" (40mm) output union.
- Push your flexible hose over the barb and secure it tightly with a hose clamp.
- This method keeps your flow open and allows you to unscrew the union for quick pump maintenance.
